PORT BLAIR: Goa’s Agonda beach was named as India’s bestand the fourth in Asia by travel planning and booking site TripAdvisor’s travellers’ choice awards for beaches. Radha Nagar beach at Havelock has been ranked the second best in the country by the agency.
This year’s awards honours 343 beaches, including the top 25 in the world The award-winning beaches were determined based on thequantity and quality of traveller reviews and ratings for beaches gathered over a 12-month period.
Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos has been voted as the world’s best while Ngapali Beach in Myanmar topped the Asia’s category. Goa leads the way in India, with 13 winning beaches, followed by Kerala with four winning beaches. The top four Indian beaches apart from Agonda are Palolem, Radhanagar beach in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mandrem and Cavelossim in Goa.
